Ionia Daily Sentinel, 22 Feb 1909

Mrs. Geo. Watts died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Bennett, 114 
South Jefferson street, Sunday at 1:30 a.m., Feb. 21, 1909.  She was born in 
London, England, Aug. 23, 1844, and sailed for America, June, 1870.  She came 
to Ionia in 1871 and has resided here since that date with the exception of 
three years of which time she resided with her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Gossett, of 
Grand Rapids.  She was respected and loved by all who knew her and gained many 
warm friends.  Her husband, three daughters and one son, remain to mourn her 
loss.  They are Mrs. Geo. Gossett, of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Chas. Vincent and Mrs. 
Walter Bennett, of Ionia; and James G. Watts of Grand Rapids.  The body was 
taken to Grand Rapids at 4:38 this afternoon and interment will be in Grand 
Rapids Wednesday.  Service was attended at 2:30 this afternoon from the 
Jefferson street home, Rev. J. E. Wilkinson, officiating, the deceased having 
been a faithful attendant of that church.
