Way are Placed in Vault to Await Burial. The remains of Private Otto B. Way, a son of Myron C. Way, of Portland, arrived here by express Thursday afternoon from Norfalk, Va., where they were recently disinterred, and the body was taken to the vault in Portland cemetery to await burial. A memorial service will be conducted later by Rev. John H. Stewart, of the Baptist church. Particulars of the death of the young marine were given in last week’s Observer. The summons came on August 30th last, following a brief illness from heart trouble. Young Way was in his 18th years at the time of his death. He was a member of Company K, Second Regiment, Second Provisional Brigade of U.S. Marines. From Vera Cruz his body was taken to Norfalk, Va., and buried. Here the grief-stricken father reached the proper authorities with a request that the body be exhumed and shipped to Portland for burial. This was done at the expense of the government. The remains were enclosed in a heavy metallic casket and made their long journey unaccompanied.
