Lake Odessa Wave - Thurs. January 23, 1902

LAID TO REST
Mrs.Susan Weatherwax died at the traverse City Hospital on Friday last, aged 83 
years. Her remains were brought to Lake Odessa for interment; the funeral being 
held at the M.E. church, of which she was a member. She had s stroke of 
paralysis in August, 1900 and was taken to the hospital in May of last year 
where she remained until death ended her sufferings. She had been a resident of 
Odessa township for thirty-three years, her husband having died in the army 
during the war of the rebellion. She had three children living, one in 
Massachusetts and one in Oregon, but no relatives living in this vicinity. The 
funeral was largely attended and the remains interred in Lakeside cemetery. She 
had made her home with S.Bagley ever since she came to Odessa.
