Ionia, Mich., May 31-—Mrs. James Weaver of Easton burned to death in her home 
this morning, despite the efforts of her husband and neighbors to extinguish 
the flames in time to save her life.  While working about the wood stove in 
the kitchen her clothing caught fire and she was unable to smother the flames 
by rolling on the carpet.  

She then rushed into the street screaming, and her cries gave the alarm to her 
husband who was at work in his barn, and to neighbors.  Their aid was too late 
to be effective, however, and she died before the arrival of Dr. Beckwith of 
this city, who had been summoned.  Her entire body was burned black by the 
inextinguishable fire.
