Weaver, 49, of Belding, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 6, 2004. Brokenhearted, his wife, Bonnie S. Weaver, 46, followed Carl on Thursday, April 8, 2004. Carl was born April 1, 1955 in Grand Rapids, the son of Cedric K. and Linda Marsh Weaver. He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of American Legion Post 203 and VFW Post 4406, both of Belding. Carl graduated from Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music. He was also an ordained minister. Bonita was born September 10, 1957 in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Claude and Mary Gould Wireman. Bonnie attended Belding High School and Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music. They were married September 15, 1974, in Cedar Springs. Carl and Bonnie were preceded in death by granddaughter, Alexis R. Weaver; nephew, Claude Wireman; Carl’s grandparents, Ed and Letha Weaver, George and Doris March; Bonita’s brother, John Wireman; and Bonita’s father, Claude Wireman. Carl and Bonita are survived by their children, Brandee and Joseph Houseman, Marshall Weaver, Leigh “Letha” and Daniel Freberg, Steven Weaver, Naomi and Joshua Jones; grandchildren, Calvin Weaver, Alexis C. Weaver, Isabelle Houseman, Sky Jones; Carl’s parents, Cedric and Linda Weaver of Vestaburg; Bonita’s mother, Mary Wireman of Belding, and Bonita’s brother and sisters and their spouses, Claude and Cindy Wireman of Belding; Peg Wireman and Daniel DeGood of Orleans, Julie and Frank Belding of Belding. Memorial services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Belding with Pastor Bruce Burfield officiating. A luncheon will follow the funeral service at the American Legion in Belding. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be given to an educational fund being established for the Weavers’ grandchildren.
