Webber, head of the banking firm of John A. Webber & Son of Portland, died in Lakeside hospital, Chicago, Sunday Morning. He has been seriously ill of Bright’s disease, with heart complications, for about three months, and his death was from paralysis of heart. He was 60 years old, and has been in the banking business since 1870. He inherited a valuable estate, and his keen business instinct has added to it. He was of genial temperament, delighted in the exercise of hospitality, and was widely known, with a large circle of friends. He leaves a widow and two children, the son, Lorenzo, being associated with his father in business, and the daughter the wife of Jas. A. Latta, of St. Paul, Minn., formerly of Ionia. The funeral services were held at Portland on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.
