Webber, 78, of Detroit were held Friday at North Plains cemetery at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Robert E. Wylie of Lyons officiating. Funeral services were Thursday evening at 7:30 at the Neely funeral home, Meyers road, Detroit, with the Rev. George Jeffrey officiating. Mr. Webber had been ill for a number of years and suffered a stroke, Wednesday, August 22, and was taken to the Harper hospital in Detroit, where he passed away Tuesday, August 28. He was born October 22, 1877, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Webber of Lyons. He graduated from the Lyons high school and Ferris Institute at Big Rapids. He also attended Orchard Lake Military Academy near Detroit. He was married to Sarah M. Dorenburg of Muir August 15, 1900 by the Rev. W.P. Tompkins of the Lyons Baptist Church. They moved to Detroit in 1913 and he entered the employ of the J.L. Hudson Co. In 1925 they moved to Fowlerville where he was cashier at the Fowlerville bank for five years. They moved back to Detroit and he again entered the J.L. Hudson Co. Altogether he was employed at the J.L. Hudson Co. forty years, retiring thirteen years ago. Mrs. Webber passed away in 1948. The survivors are one daughter, Emma, who lived with him and one brother, Don of Huston, Texas. Due to ill health, he was unable to attend the services. Attending the services at North Plains cemetery were the daughter, Emma Webber Wall, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Trefry, of Detroit, Mrs. Lucy Trefry at Warren, Ohio: Mr. and Mrs. Percy Powell of Hadley: Dr. and Mrs. Carl January of Plymouth: Mr. and Mrs. Guy Bradley, Mrs. Fred Bradt, Ionia; Miss Clara Wheelock, George McGilvray of Muir: Mr. and Mrs. George W. Staley, Mrs. Jennie Earl George D. Buchanan, the Rev. and Mrs. Herbert Wylie, Mrs. Ola Koutz and Mrs. R.F. Gardner, Lyons.
