She Passed Away Monday After a Brief Illness. Most Belding people were very much surprised to learn of the death of Mrs. Orton Webster which occurred Monday just before noon, as many had not learned of her illness. She had not been real well since she was vaccinated last winter, and about ten days before death was taken with typho malaria. She grew worse and other diseases set in, acute peritonitis being the cause of her demise. She was born in New York state in 1857 and came to Michigan when six years old with her parents, and has resided in the state continuously since. She was married to Mr. Webster in 1875, and resided on a farm in Eureka until six years ago when they removed to Belding. The funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the M.E. church, Rev. Carman officiating. The Lady Maccabees, of which order she had been a member, attended in a body. The remains were taken to the Ashley cemetery for burial. She leaves besides the bereaved husband, three daughters to mourn the loss.
