Ionia County News – Thursday, 20 February 1936

William Wedge, 84, lifetime resident of Ionia died in the county home Monday 
noon, February 17.  Services were held from the Stone funeral home Wednesday 
afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.  Rev. Paul Stewart officiated and interment was in 
Highland Park Cemetery.

Mr. Wedge was born in Ionia, August 5, 1852, and was the son of James and 
Jerusha Wedge.  He married Hanna Todd of Ontario, Canada, who died here in 
1929.

He is survived by a son, William Wedge, and a daughter, Mrs. Fred Fisher, both 
of Ionia.

Mr. Wedge was believed to be the oldest living person who was born in Ionia.
