LILLA WEED DIED FRIDAY OF A STROKE Resident of Lake Odessa since 1887. Leaves a Son and daughter of Grand Rapids. Walter Wortley was called to Traverse City Friday to bring the body of Mrs Lilla Weed, who died there that day. The remains were brought to the home here, where the funeral was held Sunday afternoon and burial was at Lake Side cemetery beside her husband, George A.Weed, who died last December. The Weeds came to Lake Odessa in its beginning and saw the town grow from a few farm houses to an important little city. Mr. Weed was he first business man of the town. Mrs. Weed leaves a daughter, Mrs.Charles Wright and a son, Verne, both of Grand Rapids and three grand children of that city. Also a brother Charles Hatton of Woodland and a sister, Mrs. Elmer Rising, of Hastings. The funeral was held at the home here. Rev. O.F. Bulman of the Methodist church giving a splendid talk, and burial was at Lake Side cemetery The daughter, Mrs.Wright was unable to be present on account of the Wrights being in the South and unable to return in time. Undertakers Wortley and Baine officiated.
