Belding News, 18 Oct 1901

The sad news of Mrs. Clare Weeks’ death, which occurred at Alma last Wednesday 
morning, was received here by telegram and greatly shocked her large circle of 
friends.  Everybody here knows Clare Weeks and his wife.  He is the son of Mr. 
and Mrs. L. H. Weeks and, up to his removal to Alma about two years ago, had 
lived in this vicinity from the time of his birth, while his wife was a 
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herrick, who have been residents of Belding for many 
years.  Both stand high in Belding society and her untimely death has filled 
many hearts with grief and sorrow.  The day previous to her death a bright girl 
baby was born to her which terminated in her death.  The remains were brought 
here for burial, Wednesday, and the funeral services will be held at the M.E. 
church, conducted by Rev. A. O. Carman, at 2 o’clock p.m. today.
