She was born Oct. 3, 1933, in Middleville, the daughter of David Nelson and Helen Arneta (TenEyck) Stedman. Margaret married Jack Weeks Nov. 5, 1951 in Saranac. They shared 57 years of marriage before he preceded in death May 25, 2009. She was a Girl Scout, Cup Scout Leader, 4-H Leader and also taught Awana. Margaret was a member of Galilee Baptist Church where she played the organ. She also played the organ for Lake Funeral Home for many years. Margaret worked for the Saranac Schools as a bus driver and later for First Security Bank in Saranac and Belding as a teller. She also worked for Boston Township as a Clerk for many years. She was a member of Ionia Moose Lodge where she held several positions through the years. Margaret was an avid bowler for 40 years and also held many positions with the league. She is survived by her children Vicki Warner (Stub Mason) of Saranac, Mike (Sheri) Weeks of Saranac, Sheryl (Larry) Williams of Saranac, Brian (Mandy) Weeks of Saranac and Chris (Kelli) Weeks of Saranac; sister Lucille Brown of Texas, Jo (Jack) Wirtz of Ionia and Jean (Dan) Werner of Ionia; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 infant son, Robert Jack; 1 infant brother, David; 2 sisters, Marjorie and Phyllis and 3 brothers-in-law, Robert Mason, Chuck Bennett and Herman Brown. Memorial services will be held Saturday 11 a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Mooren and Rev. James Frank officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday 4-7 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. In lieu of flowers you may make memorial contributions to Galilee Baptist Church.
