Ionia Sentinel Standard, 12 Dec 1977

Portland – LaVern J. Weisenberg, 57, of 11154 Cutler road, died at Ionia County 
Memorial hospital Saturday.  He was born October 17, 1920 in Saginaw, the son 
of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Weisenberg and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include one son Randy of Cypress, California; one grandson, Michael; 
one brother, John Hillis of Portland; and one sister, Mrs. Maxine Bergeron.

Services are Tuesday at 10 a.m. from St. Patrick’s church in Portland with Rev. 
Father Donald Weber officiating.  Burial is in Portland cemetery.  Bible 
service is Monday at 8 p.m. from the Neller funeral home with military services 
provided by the Portland VFW.
