Weisgerber was a member of Company C and was killed in action August 3. He was 21 years old and has resided in Grand Rapids until shortly after war was declared when he went to Kalamazoo and enlisted in the state guards. The father, Fred Weisgerber, lived in Ionia many years ago. The boy made his home practically all his life with his aunt, Mrs. Barton, of Grand Rapids.
