Sentinel-Standard - Monday, August 5, 1985
IONIA- Virginia H. Weisgerber, 84, of Kelsey Road, Ionia, died Sunday evening 
at Ionia Manor.

Born in Ionia County Nov. 25, 1900, she was the daughter of John and Clara 
Stuart Metzger.

She attended Ionia County Normal and taught the Steele and Berlin Center rural 
schools.

She was married to Robert R. Weisgerber in Easton Township on Aug. 12, 1922. 
They made their home on the family farm in Orange Township all their married 
lives and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1972. He preceded her in 
death Jan. 7, 1977.

A member of LeValley United Methodist Church, she was also a  member of the 
Ionia Womens Literary Club, was active in Farm Bureau, and was a longtime 
member of the Ionia Camera Club.

She is survived by a son, Stuart of Ionia; two daughters , Mrs. William (Jean) 
Storey of Chelsea and Mrs. Phillip (Alice) Johnson of Sarasota, Fla.; eight 
grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and a twin sister, Vera Carlson of 
Arlington, S. Dak.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the LeValley United Methodist 
Church, with the Rev. Willis Braun officiating.

Burial will be in Tuttle Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
A memorial for the LeValley United Methodist Church has been established in 
care of the funeral home.

IONIA- The family of Virginia Weisgerber, 84, of rural Ionia, who died Sunday 
evening will be at the Leddick Funeral Home Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m.  and 7 to 
9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held from the LeValley United Methodist Church, 
Wednesday at 2 p.m.
