Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 8 Apr 1957

Sunday morning, Mrs. Theresia Weitzel, 66, of 306 West Riverside drive, died
after two years illness.  She was a daughter of John and Catherine Schaefer,
born February 15, 1891 in Clinton county and married William Weitzel in 1913 at
St. John the Baptist church in Hubbardston.  Mrs. Weitzel had resided on a farm
near Pewamo until 10 years ago, when she moved to Ionia.  A member of SS Peter
and Paul church, she was also a member of the church Rosary society.

Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Robert Schafer of Ionia and Mrs.
Glenn Dean of Tampa, Fla., two sons, Ferdinand of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. and Laverne
of Grand Ledge; two sisters, Mrs. William Adams of Ionia and Mrs. Joseph
Fitzpatrick of Greenville; three brothers, Gottlieb Shafer of Ionia, William of
St. Johns and Herman of Maple Rapids and five grandchildren.

Mass will be said at 9 o’clock Wednesday morning at SS Peter and Paul church and
interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.  Rosary will be said at the Boynton
funeral home Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock.
