He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Kaye (Kidd) Welch; a son Jim (Amy) Welch of St. Joseph; daughter, Ann Williams of Tulsa, Okla.; and 5 grandchildren. Jack was a graduate of Ball State University. He served in the United States Army from 1940 to 1946, and was stationed in the European and African theaters in World War II. For many years, he was the advertising manager of the Ionia Sentinel-Standard. As a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church of Ionia, he served as Elder, Sunday School Superintendent and Choir director. He was Past President of the Ionia Lions Club; a musician, and a member of the Shrine band in Grand Rapids and Phoenix, Ariz. A memorial service will be held Monday at Valley Presbyterian Church in Paradise Valley, Ariz. More information is forthcoming regarding Mr. Jack Welch.
