Dec. 6, 1882 Fatal Accident Sliding on the Bridge street side-walk, Wednesday, Nov. 20, Master Elie Welch, son of Mr. Eli Welch, late proprietor of Welch Hotel, was thrown from his sled and run over directly across the abdomen by a sled containing two boys, receiving injuries which resulted in his death Saturday about noon. He was conveyed to the home of his brother-in-law, Mr. J. S. Decker, where he has resided since his mothers death, and lived in agony till death brought its relief. Dr. Dellenbaugh, the family physician, was called and though he summoned to his aid several other physicians nothing could be done to afford even a moments relief. He was unconscious most if not all the time. He was a promising and estimable boy and will be missed as such always are. The family express thanks again for the same sympathy and kindness rendered during the other late affliction.
