The Belding Banner, Thursday, February 7, 1952


Frank Welch, 72, died February 4 at 3 p.m. at Belding hospital.  He had been 
ill for several weeks and was removed to the hospital two weeks ago.  Mr. Welch 
was born in Breckenridge February 2, 1880, the son of Alonzo and Sarah Welch.  
He had lived in this city for 50 years, working as a painter and decorator 
until his health failed.  He was married to Maude Tower in 1901.  She died 
March 15, 1934, at their home on James Street.  Two years ago in October he 
married Pheobe Shepard and she survives. He also had one sister, Mrs. Atla 
Godfrey, of Muskegon.  He lived for a number of years at 112˝ N. Pleasant 
street, but a few weeks ago moved to 124˝ S. Bridge Street.

Funeral services were held at Fales-Huffman funeral home Wednesday at four 
o’clock with Rev H. S. Ellis officiating.  Burial was in Otisco cemetery beside 
his wife.  Pallbearers were Robert Boomer, Dale Richmond, Elbert Mier, Charles 
Christiansen, Doyle Ryan and Charles Mier.
