Ionia Sentinel Standard, 10 Aug 1967

Mrs. Leah M. Welch, 87, of route 1, died early Thursday morning at Ionia County
Memorial hospital where she had been a patient the past ten days.  Born in
Hastings, June 19, 1880, she was the daughter of Daniel and Eliza Rogers. 
November 24, 1907 she was married to John B. Welch in Grand Rapids, who was
Ronald township supervisor for many years and died in 1965.

She was a longtime resident of Ronald township, and for the past two and a half
years lived at the Ionia Manor.  She was a member of First Christian church, OES
of Palo, Ronald Grange and Pleasant Hill Literary society.

Surviving are one son, Amos Welch; one granddaughter and three great
grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Benedict of Ionia, and one brother Willard
Rogers of Plymouth.

Mrs. Welch will be at Stone-Kauffman funeral home until noon Saturday when she
will be taken to First Christian church for services at 2 p.m. with Rev. John
Scott officiating.  Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery.  A memorial has
been established which will be added to the John B. Welch memorial at First
Christian church.
