The funeral for Mrs. Eliza M. Welch was held this afternoon at her home on 
East Washington street at two o’clock.  Mrs. Welch was born at Mohawk, N.Y., 
August 13, 1841.  She was the daughter of John B. Welch and Marcia K. Wilson.  
She came to Ionia with them when six weeks old and has resided here ever 
since.  She was twice married, to John M. Reynolds in 1857 and to Andrew J. 
Welch in 1870.  Mr. Welch died in 1883.  There were no children.  She joined 
the Disciple church under Isaac Erret and has ever since been a member.  Mrs. 
J. H. Hamilton, Mrs. K. R. Smith and A. M. Welch of Ionia, and J. D. Welch of 
Portland, Oregon are half brothers and sisters.
