Raymond R. Wellman, 55, of Portland died July 8, 1997.  Mr. Wellman was born 
in Battle Creek Nov. 24, 1941.

Surviving are his wife, Luvern; one daughter, Kelly (John) Smith of Lyons; one 
son, Randy (Becky) Wellman of Westphalia; three granddaughters, Allyson, 
Jenna, and Miranda; father, Keith Wellman of Sunfield; stepmother, Martha; two 
brothers, Kendal of Bellevue and Greg (Linda) of Sunfield; and one sister, 
Myrna (Ed) Bartlett of Midland.  He was preceded in death by his mother, 
Geraldine, and sister-in-law Patty Wellman.

Services were held July 11 at the Gorsline-Runciman Neller Chapel in Portland, 
with the Rev. Scott Otis of Portland United Methodist Church officiating.  
Private graveside services were held at Sunfield Cemetery, Sunfield.  
Contributions may be made at the funeral home.
