Ionia Sentinel, 18 Dec 1973

Mrs. Letha Wells, 71, of Gould road, Saranac, died Monday at Butterworth 
hospital in Grand Rapids.

She was born November 8, 1902, in Lowell township, Kent county, the daughter of 
Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Schmidt.

In 1920 she was married in Ionia to Howard Wells and he died in 1968.  She had 
lived all of her adult life in the Saranac area and was a member of the 
Clarksville Bible church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Pinckney of Lowell and son, Victor 
Grindle of Rockford.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Morris-Roetman funeral home at 
Saranac.  Rev. Elwood Norton and Rev. Ron Schmidt will officiate and interment 
will be at Saranac cemetery.  A memorial has been established for the heart 
fund.
