Wells, 79, of 629 West State Street were held Friday afternoon at Huffman Funeral Home. Mr. Wells died April 10 at Belding Community Hospital and had been hospitalized for six days. Rev. Gene Sickler officiated at the services. Interment was at Otisco Cemetery. His grandsons were the pallbearers. Mr. Wells was born May 24, 1893 in Mt. Pleasant. He was the son of Isaac J. and Alice Mae (Doty) Wells. He was married to Ida B. Johnson. She preceded him in death in 1969. He was a retired carpenter and had been employed by Imperial Furniture in Grand Rapids. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Gladys) Groom of Greenville, Mrs. Howard (Juanita) Thompson of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Harold (Alice) Allchin of Lowell; five sons, Harry of Elkhart, Indiana, James of Charlotte, George of Traverse City, Jack of Charlotte, and Leonard of Grand Haven; one brother Howard of Smyrna; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
