Jeff Wells, 64, of Lake Odessa went to be with The Lord Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013 
at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with Diabetes and 
Heart Disease. Jeff was born on July 29, 1949 to Irol and Nellie (Curtis) Wells 
in Detroit.

He was a 1967 graduate of Lakewood High School and stayed active with Lakewood 
Sports until he was unable due to health. Jeff served out country in the Air 
Force for four years being stationed at Kinchloe AFB in Kinross, Mich.

On May 9, 1970 he married Judy Bever at the Lakewood United Methodist Church in 
Lake Odessa and she survives. Jeff spent 31 years as a buyer for General Motors 
in Lansing. During retirement Jeff kept busy by working for Vern's Sport and 
Repair. He enjoyed coaching Junior High school girls basketball and boys 
varsity track.

Jeff was an avid fisherman, serving as president of Michigan Steelheaders 
Association and also teaching many how to tie flies and built several of his 
own rods. While his health permitted, Jeff enjoyed hunting and teaching his 
son-in-law and grandchildren the joys of the sport. Recently, he'd enjoyed his 
time spent at the American Legion Post #0045 in Hastings.

Survivors include his wife Judy; children, Darcy Wells, and Amy (Mark) 
Wilkinson; siblings Curt Wells, and Saundra (Peter) Schanski; grandchildren 
Alayna Wells, Alex Wells, Ashley Wilkinson, Amara Wells, Adrionna Wilkinson and 
Landry Wilkinson; great-grandchild Payton LaVictor; four nephews and two nieces.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation is being held at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 10265 Brown Road, 
Lake Odessa, MI 48849 pm Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A 
celebration of Jeff's life will be held at Lakewood United Methodist Church 11 
a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013. Memorials in Jeff's name may be given to 
Lakewood Athletics Association or Lakewood United Methodist Church Memorial 
Fund.
