May 11, 2019 WELLS Ronald Eugene Wells, age 88 of Lowell, MI passed away May 6, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 6, 1930 in Westphalia, MI the son of Paul and Rhea (Dutcher) Wells. Ron served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Marcella Miler on August 1950, she passed away January 10, 2007. He went on to marry Geri Conner on August 5, 2011. He did small engine repair "Ron's Repair", loved gardening, mowing, feeding his duck and other animals. Surviving are his wife Geri Conner Wells of Lowell; children Deborah (Troy) Black of Charlotte, Diana (Ted) Wells of Lake Odessa, Connie (Brett) Johnson of Charlotte and Kay (Dave) Beach of Hastings; step-children Randy (Nicki) Conner of Orleans, Lynn (Don) Green of Lowell, Cynthia Hendrick of Saranac, Kevin Conner of Saranac and Michele (David) Longfield of Rockford; daughter- in-law Sandra Wells of Sunfield; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Alice Shattuck of Ionia, Doris Bentley of Charlotte, Jerry Wells of Portland and Steve (Cindy) Wells of Grandville. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Ronald Wells Jr., grandson David Wells, Sisters Pauline Powell and Josephine Hosford, brothers John Wells and Richard Wells. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist church in Lowell with Pastor Bob Roush, Pastor John Pickens and Pastor Lee Taylor officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Mackenzies'a Animal Sanctuary Arrangements in care of Lake Funeral Home of Saranac.
