Clinton James Wells, born Sept. 13, 1927 in Belding, Mich. passed away on Oct. 
8, 2007 at the age of 80 in Lancaster, Calif.

Clint was a long time resident in the Antelope Valley and the respected owner 
of Ye Olde Watch Shoppe in Palmdale for 39 years. After attending Ferris State 
University in Big Rapids, Mich. to become a Horologist (keeper of time), he 
opened his first business as a watchmaker/jeweler at the age of 20 in Saranac. 
While operating his business, he also worked for Lear Siegler repairing 
aircraft instruments. A job transfer opportunity led Clint and his family to 
Los Angeles in 1960. Clint later moved to the Antelope Valley to work at 
Edwards Air Force Base-NASA for Hughes Aircraft in research and development. 
In Oct. 1968, he opened Ye Olde Watch Shoppe in Palmdale providing sales and 
repair for watches, clocks and jewelry. Restoring antique clocks and watches 
was his specialty. Sheri Towry (daughter) and Ashley Kinney (granddaughter) 
will continue to operate the business in Palmdale. Clint was a member of the 
National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) and a past member 
of the Palmdale Moose Lodge.

Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his second wife, Rita and is survived by 
his first wife Wilma; son, Tim; daughters, Jana Billings, Tara (Steve) Borek 
and Sheri (Vern) Towry; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was a huge fan of old Westerns. In his memory and in lieu of flowers, enjoy 
an old Western movie. At his request, no services are planned.
