March 12, 1953 WYMAN WELSH, LOCAL RESIDENT DIED FRIDAY Wyman Welsh, 81, retired farmer and resident here for the last five years died unexpectedly at the home of his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wouters Friday evening. He was born in Canada but came to Michigan when 19 years old and resided at Mt. Pleasant for many years before moving here. Mr. Welsh complained of feeling ill when he went to the Wouters home at noon, a doctor was summoned and he was put to bed to rest. His wife Mabel, an invalid, has been at the home of their son, Roy, at Mt. Pleasant for about two months, to relieve Mrs. Wouters who has been ill. Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Gerald Courtright of St. Louis and Mrs. Larry Simpson of Houston, Texas; two other sons, Howard of Lansing and Ford of Lake Odessa, 7 grand children and 5 great grand children. He was taken to the Stinson funeral home at Mt. Pleasant Saturday after a prayer service at the Pickens Chapel, with Rev. Paul Robinson officiating. Funeral services were held Monday at Mt. Pleasant with burial in Riverside cemetery.
