He suffered a stroke about two years ago and was in the St. Lawrence hospital for some time and was moved to his sister’s home about a year ago, and has been cared for by his relatives and George Welsh as nurse. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Welsh, natives of Ireland, and was born in North Plains township. He worked at the lumber business when young and then took up a business in Ionia for a few years. The past few years he has been living in Ionia, Hubbardston and Fowler as the fancy took him, having no permanent home of his own. The funeral services were held at St. John’s Catholic Church at Hubbardston, Monday forenoon at nine-thirty. A Requiem High Mass was sung by Fr. Thos. Beahan, Fr. Robert Rock, and Fr. O’Toole conducting the services. Fr. Beahan delivered the sermon. He leaves many relatives and friends to mourn.
