Ionia County News - Thursday, Dec. 11. 1930

Thomas Welsh, pioneer settler, died at his home west of Hubbardston Tuesday 
afternoon at two o'clock following an illness of some months.

Mr. Welsh was born on what is known as the Corey place in 1858. In 1887 he 
was united in marriage at St. John Catholic Church to Lizzie Cusack. Since 
their marriage they have resided on a farm west of Hubbardston where he won 
the esteem and admiration of the community.

He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Patrick Cunningham of 
Hubbardston; three grandsons, one sister, Mrs. Maggie McKenna, of Detroit, a 
brother, Patrick Welsh of Fowler. Four sisters, Mrs. Dave Roach, Mrs. John 
Handlon, Mrs. James O'Neill, Mrs. Harry Allen have preceded him in death.

Funeral services will beheld Friday morning at 9 o'clock from St. John 
Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. W.J. Flanagan officiating.
