Mrs. Welton lived in an apartment upstairs from her daughter, at 431 North Dexter street. She was born in Fowler, February 19, 1869, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Wrisley. She came to Ionia at the age of 17 and worked as a domestic until her marriage to John Welton, November 25, 1891. They were married at SS. Peter and Paul church by the Rev. Fr. Fierle. Mr. Welton preceded her in death in 1908. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Russell Ingram; two granddaughters, Mrs. Carl Gazella of Ionia and Mrs. George Hamblin of Denver, Colorado; two great- granddaughters and several nephews and nieces. Mrs. Welton was the last surviving member of a family of seven. Mrs. Welton reposes at Stone-Kauffman funeral home where Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock. Funeral Mass will be sung Wednesday morning at SS. Peter and Paul church at 9 o’clock and interment will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
