The Ionia Standard, Friday, October 9, 1896

Julia Belle, beloved wife of George J. Wendell, departed this life at 8 
o’clock Saturday a.m.  She was aged 39 years.  The funeral was attended from 
her late residence, North Union street, at 2 p.m. on Monday.  Rev. D. F. 
Barnes, D.D. officiated, and interment was in Highland Park.  The deceased was 
a lady of many amiable traits of character, beloved by all who knew her 
intimately, and her death will be mourned by many friends.
