Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Tues. Nov. 27, 2012

Richard Eugene Werner, 77, of Ionia passed away Nov. 25, 2012 at his home. He 
was born Jan. 4, 1935 in Hubbardston, the son of Albert and Lillian (Bennett) 
Werner. Richard married Janice Younger Aug. 15, 1959 in Ionia.

He was in the Army Air Corps where he was a Paratrooper from 1954 to 1956, and 
was a member of local 340 iron workers union. He loved racing as well as 
welding. He was an incredible husband and amazing Dad who will be missed by his 
family.

Richard is survived by his children, Janine (Jeff) Erridge of Muir, Renee 
(Chris) Cook of Ionia, Susan Gorby and Craig Copeman of Orleans; brother, Bud 
(Carol) Werner; sister, Wilma Miller of Ionia; and grandchildren, Casey 
Erridge, Jeffery Erridge, Dylan Erridge, Eric Cook, Melissa Cook, Christian 
Cook, Cheyenne Gorby and Devin Gorby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Don Werner and sisters, 
Irene, Marie, Betty and Virginia.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. at Shiloh Community Church with Rev. 
Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment Balcom Cemetery. Visitation will be held 
on Wednesday at 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
