Louis F. Werner
Louis F. Werner, 76, of Ionia died March 1, 1995.

Mr. Werner was born in Westphalia Aug. 10, 1918, the son of Conrad and Mary (Ott)
Werner. He was a long-time farmer in Ronald township, and a member of SS. Peter and Paul 
Catholic Church in Ionia, the Knights of Columbus, and Michigan Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; children, Kay (Sam) Conner of Ionia, Jane
Bowerman of Ionia, Gerald (Nancy) Werner of Ionia, Alice (Richard) Foreback of Portland, Rose
(Glenn) Smejkal of Greenville, Marlene (Gary) Chartrand of Pewamo, Mary (Glenn) Swick of
Byron Center, Gary (Gail) Wohlscheid of Lowell, Gail Wohlscheid of Ohio, David (Paula) 
Wohlscheid of Ionia, Thomas (Lucy) Wohlscheid of Sheridan, and Steven (Gail)
Wohlscheid of Ionia; 29 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Matilda
Heightchew of Florida, Helen Smith of Lansing, and Marie Klein, Dorothy Stump, and Monica Bengel,
all of Portland

Services were held March 4 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia, with
Rev. Charles Hall officiating. Interment followed at Portland cemetery. Contributions may
be made to the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church Memorial fund.
