Gerald M. West, aged 75, of Ionia, formerly of Lake Odessa, went to be with 
the Lord on June 19, 2009. Gerald was born in Eaton County on August 15, 1933 
to Wendell and Daisy (Barnum) West. 

Although he was never blessed with children of his own, he was greatly loved 
by his sister-in-law, Hilda West; nieces and nephew, Kristina and Andy 
Eastridge and family, David and Lori West and family, and Dorla and Dave 
Lancaster and family. Gerald will also be deeply missed by his extended family 
in the adult homes where he had lived. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Wendell, in 1983; his mother, Daisy, 
in 1997; and his step-father, Robert Hazel, in 1989; and his brother, Gary 
West. 

The funeral service held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Koops Funeral 
Chapel. Burial was in Woodland Memorial Park. Gerald's family has suggested 
that memorial contributions may be made to Sunny Crest Youth Ranch (13014 
Sunny Crest Lane, Sunfield, MI 48890).
