LAKE ODESSA- Gary J. West, 46, of 7769 Woodland road, died at Pennock hospital, 
Hastings, Saturday morning.

He was born in Barry county May 24, 1931, the son of Wendell and Daisy Barnum 
West and was a life long area resident. 

Mr. West was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving two years with the 
Marine Corps and receiving citations including the bronze star and purple heart 
before his discharge in 1954.

He was employed at Motor Wheel in Lansing for 27 years retiring three years ago 
for health reasons.

He married the former Hilda Wood August 25, 1956 in Clark Lake.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Dorla) Misner of Lake 
Odessa and Mrs. James (Kris) Stephens of Woodland; one son, David at home; his 
father, Wendell West of Lansing; his mother, Mrs. Robert (Daisy) Hazel of Lake 
Odessa and a brother, Gareld of Lake Odessa and four grandchildren.

Military services will be conducted by the Jackson-Mutschler VFW post Tuesday 
at 1:30 pm from the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel.

Burial is in Woodland Memorial park.
