Ionia Sentinel-Standard – Mon. March 31, 1969

Funeral services for Weldon Willard West, 58, will be Tuesday at 3:30 pm at 
Neller funeral home in Portland. Rev. William F. Burd of Holland will 
officiate. Interment will be at Portland cemetery.

Mr. West, who lived at 947 Riverside drive, Portland died Saturday at Sparrow 
hospital in Lansing where he had been a patient the past five weeks. He had 
lived at his present address six months having resided previously in Lansing 32 
years. He was born January 4, 1911 in Sebewa township.

Surviving are his wife, Constance; one son John West of Holland and a daughter, 
Mrs. Sandra DeBoer of Grand Rapids; mother, Mrs. Edna Garn of Charlotte; one 
sister Mrs. Charles Mathews of Fowler.

The honorary bearers will be John Fox and Norman Slear; active bearers will be 
Dale Watters, Charles Smaltz, Dan O’Bryant, Richard Stanek, John Esch and 
Ardith McGlone
