Mrs. West for formerly a Miss Cover, and was born in Ashland County, Ohio, in 1846. In February 1880 she was married at Kingston, Canada to Wm. S. West. They made their home in Canada for about 18 years. About six years ago they came to Lake Odessa, and resided here three years, making their home with Mrs. West’s mother, Mrs. Eliza Cover, who now lives at Dayton, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. West finally settled in Detroit from which city she passed to “that mysterious bourne from which no traveler e’er returns.” In her last sickness she had the consolation of the Christian hope and died very peacefully. Heart trouble was the immediate cause of her death. While in Lake Odessa, Mrs. West with her sister were attendants t the Congregational church. The pastor of the Methodist church conducted a brief service at the grave. Mr. Skentelbury, the former pastor, being out of town. The Wave extends it sympathy to the bereaved husband, the sorrowing mother, who is “Only waiting ‘till the shadows are a little longer brown.” And to the surviving brother and sister, George W. and Eliza Cover, who lives with their mother at Dayton.
