Belding - Rube W. Westmoreland, 81, of Ionia, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21,
2002, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids.  He was born June 5,
1920, in Horn Lake, Miss., the son of Joseph and Pearl Ragland Westmoreland.

Rube was a great man who was loved and will be remembered by all.  He was
married to Laura Vada Westmoreland.  She preceded him in death in 1989.  He also
was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, one son and
twin daughters.

He is survived by his children, Douglas P. and Peggy Westmoreland of Ionia,
David and Cheryl Westmoreland, Todd Westmoreland, all of Bowling Green, Fla.;
five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Louise Smith
of Bowling Green, Fla.; and one brother-in-law, Jimmy Smith of Bowling Green Fla.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home,
Belding, with Pastor Kendall Harger officiating.  Interment is in Otisco
Cemetery.  Visitation is one hour prior to the service.  Memorial contributions
may be made to American Heart Association.
