Ionia County News – Thurs. March 20, 1947

Dr. Thomas E. Weston, 82, Muir physician for 55 years, died in Blodgett 
hospital, Grand Rapids, Saturday morning, March 15 after only a few days 
illness.

Dr. Weston was born in Brownville Ontario, December 10, 1864 and began the 
practice of medicine in Muir in 1892.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Velma Mandeville of Muskegon, a brother John 
and a sister, Mrs. Edith Paupst, both of Dresden, Ontario; another sister Mrs. 
Clara Caville of Toronto, Ont., and two grandsons. 

Funeral service was held in the Church of Christ, Muir, Monday afternoon, March 
17. Rev. Paul L. Stewart, Ionia, officiated and burial was in Highland Park 
Mausoleum. Masonic rites were conducted by Lyons F. & A. M. and Ionia Knights 
Templar were honor guards.
