Westover, age 97, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014. He was born on June 6, 1917 in Lansing, MI the son of Marshall and Susan (French) Westover. Mr. Westover graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit in 1936, two years at the General Motors Institute in Flint, two years at Ferris graduating with a Bachelors Degree in English, then two more years at Michigan State with a Masters Degree in Vocational Education. J ack was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He worked at the Michigan Reformatory for 34 years, retiring as the School Principal in 1982. Jack was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, VFW Sheridan Post, and a member of the American Legion Saranac Post. He married the former Rosemary Schieble on April 28, 1939. Preceding him in death were his wife, Rosemary Westover in 2003; daughter, Dianne Lou Westover in 1983. Surviving are his children, Judith (Gerald) Rich of Lyons, and James (Carla) Westover of Ionia; grandchildren, Neil (Loni) Rich, Alycia (Bill) Nash, Linette Reed, and Colette Tornik; 5 great grandsons and 5 great granddaughters. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia, with Rev. Thomas Boufford and Rev. Charlon O. Mason con-celebrating.
