Sentinel-Std. - Monday, June 1, 1936

John Westrck, 72 years old, died at the University hospital at Ann Arbor 
Friday evening at 7 o'clock having been confined there for the past five 
weeks. Mr. Westrick was born in Ohio and came to Ionia and bought a home on 
West Main street where he lived for several years. He sold his home and 
moved north of Woodard lake a few years ago where he has been living with 
his son, John Jr., until he was taken to the hospital.

Surviving besides the son, John, are three brothers, Frank, Joe and Charles, 
of Indiana, and three sisters, Mrs. Kate Cullens of Ohio, Mrs. Susie 
Lathamer of Coldwater, and Mrs. Mary Hanes of Battle Creek.

Funeral services were held at the SS. Peter and Paul church with Rev. Fr. 
J.V. Coyle officiating. Bearers were William Klein, Frank Wirtz, Amil 
Krieger and Michael Schenden. Interment in the family lot beside his wife at 
Mt. Olivet cemetery.
