Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2002

Janet Whalon, 73, of Lyons passed away Feb. 25, 2002 in Lyons.  She was born 
Sept. 5, 1928 in Morenci, the daughter of Coral and Ruth (Spieth) Ridenour.

She is survived by her son, Reg (Pamela) Whalon of Lyons; brother, Robert 
(Florence) Ridenour of Gladwin; sisters, Evelyn (Richard) Bishop of Onsted and 
Patricia (Cleo) Venier of Adrian; sister-in-law, Francis Kross of Chicago; 
grandchildren, Eric (Anetra) Whalon of Muir and Brian Fabiano of East Lansing; 
and great-grandchildren, Taylor of Chloe.

Upon her request cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held at 
a later date.  Burial will be in Lenawee Hills Cemetery.  Arrangements were 
made by Hull Memorial Chapel of the Lake Funeral Home in Muir.
