John P. Wheat Dies Tuesday at Hastings

Funeral Friday Afternoon

John P. Wheat, of Ware road, passed away Tuesday, January 1, at Pennock hospital
in Hastings, where he had been taken Christmas night, after suffering a heart
attack.  Mr. Wheat, who was born October 19, 1888, was a farmer in South Lowell.  

He reposes at the Roth funeral home where friends may meet the family Thursday
evening from 7 to 9 o’clock.  Funeral services will be held at the Roth chapel
Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. J. Marion DeVinney will officiate; interment
is to be in South Boston cemetery.

Besides his widow, Mary, Mr. Wheat leaves six daughters; Mrs. Evelyn Free of
Ada, Mrs. Olive Cook of Lowell, Mrs. Doris Carlson and Mrs. Alice Meunier both
of Grand Rapids, and Mary Lou and Virginia at home; also two sons, Philip and
James, both of Lowell; and 9 grandchildren.
