Wheaton, 66 years old, passed away at 7:30 Sunday morning at his home on Wood avenue following a month’s illness from a complication of Bright’s disease and liver trouble. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 from Bradley’s funeral home, with Rev. Edwin G. White officiating. Burial will be in Woodard Lake cemetery. Friends desiring to view the remains may do so at the funeral home any time. Mr. Wheaton for the past four years has been employed as a guard at the Michigan reformatory. He was born in New York state, but had spent the major portion of his lifetime in Ionia county, residing for many years on a farm near Woodard lake. He leaves a widow, a son, Dr. L. H. Wheaton, of Hillsdale, and three daughters, Mrs. Renah Amily, of this city; Mrs. Bernice Gazella, of Lowell, and Mrs. Ethelyn Hunt, at home, besides a sister, Mrs. Frances Pierson, of Wood’s corners.
