Mrs. Wheeler at the time of her death which occurred April 30, was visiting her oldest daughter at Willow Streams, Mo. She left her home about five weeks ago intending to remain with her daughter till warm weather and the news of her death came as a shock to her family and friends. The burial occurred at Willow Streams, Tuesday. Mrs. Wheeler whose maiden name was Laura Cowles was born in Courtlandville, N.Y., Aug. 30, 1827, and was therefore in the 73rd year of her age. She was a member of the Congregational church of this place, a faithful Christian and devoted to the cause of missions. She with her family has resided in this place three years having removed here from Lansing. She leaves one son and two daughters by a former union with Osband D. Swift, who died in 1856. The afflicted husband family have the sympathy of all her friends.
