She had been in her usual good health and had performed her usual household tasks throughout the morning. She was finishing her lunch at 1:30 when her son Leon left to cut wood in his woodlot. When her daughter, Elva returned at 4:30 from her work at the Jolly Kids Garment factory, she found her mother had fallen in the yard. A doctor and coroner Dale Kaufman were called and they decided she had a heart attack about 2 pm and died immediately. As Edith Belding she was born near Palo, November 6, 1869. She married Fred Wheeler March 21, 1887 and came to the home eat of Chadwick where she had always lived. She was a member of the Rebekah lodge. Her husband, Fred Wheeler, died in May 1929. Surviving are one daughter, Elva at home and three sons, Leon at home, Ralph of Miami, Fla., and Charles of Pontiac; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, one brother Phil Belding of Pinelias Park, Fla. and of this city. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 pm at Fitzjohn funeral home with burial in the Green cemetery.
