The Portland Observer, Wednesday, September 27, 1905
Elizabeth Wheeler, widow of the Daniel Wheeler, died at her home north of 
Portland in Lyons township on the 8th inst., and burial made in Portland 
cemetery on the 12th.  She was 78 years of age and had been a resident of 
Ionia county many years, being among the early settlers.  She was the mother 
of Isher Wheeler of …(illegible) and Mrs. Charles Campbell of …(illegible)…
township.  Her death was the result of old age and other causes.
