The Ionia Standard, Friday, October 15, 1915
Chapin Wheelock, one of Ionia’s pioneers, who has been living for the last few 
years with his son at Rocky Ford, Colorado, died Friday night at the home of 
his daughter, Mrs. Marcellus Faxon, of Ionia township.  His old home, which 
his family occupied for thirty years or forty years, is near the Lee Spaulding 
farm.
