The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, February 10, 1938

Millard F. Whipple, 69, died at his home at 115 High street, in the old Tower 
house, Thursday morning, February 10 at 8:30 o’clock.  Mr. Whipple had been in 
poor health for two years and suffered with a stroke Friday, February 4.

He was the son of Esseck and Julia Whipple and was born in Alma, March 24, 
1868, and was married to Etta Byers of Sheridan, who survives.  For many years 
he was a veterinary until his health forced him to retire.  He has been a 
resident of Ionia county for the past 36 years.

Surviving beside his wife is a sister in Minnesota.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Myers funeral home on East Main 
street Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. Arthur DeVries, pastor of the 
Evangelical church officiating.  Interment will be at Sheridan.
